Welcome to Blue Cross Society of Pune (BCS): A Journey of Compassion

Established in 1994 by visionary individuals Mrs. Sunanda Das and Mr. Subir Das, the Blue Cross Society of Pune emerged from a heartfelt concern for the well-being of stray animals in Pune.

Friendly Team

Driven by compassion

Our founders put an end to the illegal mass killing of stray dogs in Pune in 1995 and set up the first Animal Birth Control unit at PMC’s Naidu Pound. This partnership led to our formal registration, setting us on a transformative path to safeguard the voiceless.

A milestone year

The pivotal year 2000 marked a milestone as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) granted land in Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, laying the groundwork for our hospital —a beacon of hope for animals in need. Through unwavering dedication, donations, and grants, our hospital emerged in 2005, offering comprehensive veterinary services, spacious dog kennels, operation theatres, an OPD, and IPD facilities, serving both stray and pet animals.
